My name is Lauren Johnson and I believe that every child is unique in their learning style. I work with students one on one to help them unlock their full potential in a safe environment where students are free to make mistakes. I help instill a growth mindset and teach students to become lifelong learners. I follow a rigorous reading curriculum mixed with fluency games to keep lessons fun and engaging all while teaching your child the fundamentals of reading.

I have six years of classroom teaching experience and a valid California Teaching Credential. Learning with Lauren Tutoring has now been offering reading intervention for over one year! I focus on early reading and phonics and offer quality, personalized services available in-person for students K-5th. See more about my Curriculum and teaching style below!

An Orton-Gillingham Structured Literacy Approach
Teaching reading is my passion but you may be wondering "How does she actually do it?" I use an Orton-Gillingham Structured Literacy approach to reading. Here is a little information about the phonics approach and program I use:
"Orton-Gillingham is a structured literacy approach that helps children with reading difficulties due to dyslexia, auditory processing, speech deficits, and other learning differences. Orton-Gillingham is considered an evidence-based reading instruction for dyslexia and is meant as a 1:1 or small group reading intervention instruction".
